vintage milliner poupee dolly head millinery mannequin designer tool
A very rare find and a must for any milliner - a millinery poupee (po-pay) for making, working on hats and for setting veils. I use one of these every day in my millinery work and as this one is surplus to supply I am reluctantly offering if for sale (I know how hard these are to come by and I bought this in Europe in a second hand store and I have no idea other than that of it’s maker or the era it was made but definately vintage). Made from very lightweight material (cork/foam?) it can sit upright on the desk - very easy to pin into. This will be easy to post as it is very light.
Head size is 22 3/4 which is a very handy size, it stands approx 12 1/2 inches high and has some pin marks and dents but overall very good condition for vintage. Has a hole in the base which will aid in the poupee standing up for you while you are working on a hat. Please bid early or I may decide to keep it - now I’m looking at it I may find a use for it after all ! I will be adding another couple of ‘millinery’ items this week as I am having another mad clean out of the studio.
